Can't Sleep

I have a million things running through my mind. I'm up watching Suze Orman deny people for purchases and infomercials for and expandable water hose. How exciting. In addition I have a minor sinus headache. Oh I can complain all night but I won't. As I lay here, I think about how life is short and how much I love my family and how important it is to cherish the short time we have to influence the world.
My 87 year old grandmother fell in the bathroom while getting out of the tub. She hit her head on the radiator. I was on my way to the gym. My mother was there luckily. She rallied up the troops and we all took her to the ER. Three stitches later she came out smiling. She's such a devil. On the way home, we found out a long time family friend had a stroke. What a mess, but by the afternoon we all were laughing and enjoying life.
Someone told me today, "you have god in you." Who says that to people? That's the most intimidating compliment anyone could receive. He told me that no matter what I do, I cannot change that. And I hope I don't.

Working on Many at Once

So. This will be brief as I am using my blogger app, laying in the bed ready to get rest for my long day at work. I did a SIGNIFICANT amount of writing today. Working on a screenplay. Won't say what it's about but the format is going to tell the story from various perspectives. I've seen this a few times, first the movie Go and Vantage Point and another movie called 4-3-2-1. I love how it helps the viewer understand why people make the decisions they make over the course of a series of events. Anyway that's all for today. Hope someone is out there reading.

Early Morning Rant

Well it's almost shower time for me. Getting ready to go to work this morning. I am really facing the facts that this writing game is about the love of the art but is also a business that cannot be ignored. As much as I want to press the PUBLISH button and see sales fly off the racks, that will never happen. Have to wear many hats: writer, publisher, editor, artist, marketer, manager, PR, etc. In the mean time I just thank those of you who have been reading and giving feedback. Thank you! I put in a lot of hard work to make this happen. I'm attaching a screen shot from when I designed my cover.

Another fan. Another book!

I really want to thank those people and fans who have bought the book. I encourage you all to write HONEST reviews. No one likes criticism but we all need it. I remember I emailed my book to a coworker who used to work for the local paper. And she gave me criticism AFTER it was published. I was kinda frustrated but really had to let it go. It wasn't ANYTHING I WANTED TO HEAR! Before she left to take on a new job, she requested to purchase a book from me. So as a parting gift I gave her one, signed it, gave her a hug and moved on. Nice lady. A week later she emailed me that she really enjoyed reading the book. Through the email she just couldn't get into really reading and paying attention. Once she had a book in her hand, the reading experience changed and she loved it. I'm glad she changed her review. It was a relief. But even if she didn't it taught me a tough lesson on taking criticism, sucking it up and growing as an author! Not saying I will never feel annoyed with tough criticism but I still learned a lesson. Enjoy!

Two at a Time

Good morning.
I just arrived at work. I always come about an hour early to relax and get in the swing of things, checking emails and filing reports I may have left incomplete. Well, the Internet is down so it's like the world has collapsed here. So I decided to blog and clean my Tragus piercing while sipping tea from Dunkin.

Anyway, working on two pieces to FLUTTER at the same time has been crazy. I'm trying to keep things in sync, in the mean time keeping track of events that happened in the first book is a process as well. A lot of the connections in my book were not preplanned. They kinda just happened as things flowed. I find myself now intentionally looking for places to tie things together. I dunno how I feel about that.

Anyway, it's good to be able to develop new characters and scenes. I have to think a lot and gather information off google all the time. I think this next set of books is going to challenge me to explore things I am unfamiliar with and I'm up for the challenge. Ok. Gotta run.
